We are very pleased to share the Recommendations Report, one of the important outputs of the İzmir Climate Citizens’ Assembly process.
Bringing together citizens of different ages, experiences, and perspectives to develop shared recommendations for İzmir’s climate future, this process has once again demonstrated how powerful and transformative participatory democracy can be.
We would like to thank all the citizens, facilitators, experts, and contributing stakeholders whose efforts made this valuable work possible.
In particular, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to KNOCA – Knowledge Network on Climate Assemblies Coordinator Graham Smith and independent participatory process advisor Sarah Allan, who guided us throughout the process with their valuable knowledge and experience; and to Tom Lord from the Sortition Foundation for his support in the random selection process.
We hope that these recommendations, shaped through collective wisdom and participation, will contribute to more inclusive and effective climate action in İzmir.
