In its shortest form, Future without Coal is a campaign against fossil fuels, one of the leading causes of the climate crisis, whose effects are increasing daily. It defends the right to life of all living things on Earth and aims to raise awareness. Because we only have one Earth. And if we use fossil-based fuels and do not approach renewable energy, we will consume it quickly. For this reason, our campaign has continued relentlessly since 2015.
As the name suggests, Future without Coal focuses primarily on coal-fired power plants – and the environmental damage they cause. Of course, not only power plants but also fossil fuels in general and climate change. In addition, the ‘just transition’ agenda and renewable energy are also part of the agenda of Future without Coal. In other words, we closely follow Türkiye’s energy and climate change agenda and bring the developments to the masses in their simplest form.
We aim to raise more people’s awareness about the relevant issues and ensure that they have an idea about the potential dangers in the future. We share scientific information, statistical data, and reports in simple and accessible formats.
We will be happy if we successfully convey the importance and urgency of coal and climate change issues to a broader audience and create an impact!
