The opening meeting of the Environmental and Marine Literacy in the Black Sea Basin Project, which is carried out within the scope of the INTERREG NEXT Black Sea Basin program within the European Union under the leadership of Yuva Association and in partnership with the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (HSPN) from Greece and Green Balkans from Bulgaria, was held in Edirne on November 18-19.

The meeting, which provided an important opportunity for the project partners to get to know each other and create a common working ground, was also beneficial for all parties in terms of discussing the project objectives and operational plan in detail. The project partners discussed the activities to be implemented during the project, possible difficulties that may be encountered, and solution suggestions. The partners, who had only known each other through online meetings before the meeting, made the most of the two days with the synergy of sharing the same venue.

The project, which aims to draw attention to environmental issues in the Black Sea Basin and increase environmental and marine literacy in the region, will organize training of trainers in Bulgaria and Greece, followed by dissemination trainings targeting young adults aged 18-35 in the three countries. The project is expected to make significant contributions to raising environmental awareness in the region and strengthening international cooperation.
