As part of the “Environmental and Ocean Literacy Project in the Black Sea Basin” we are implementing under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Program, we organized an Environmental and Marine Literacy Training for young people who gathered on October 11 in response to an open call made through the social media channels of the Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG).
The program, consisting of five sessions, was conducted using interactive and participatory methods. Throughout the training, participants explored the rich biodiversity of the Black Sea while learning new concepts related to environmental and marine literacy. Through workshops, group discussions, and hands-on activities, they gained awareness about protecting marine ecosystems. At the end of the training, participants developed individual action plans and projects to raise awareness about sustainability and marine conservation in their own communities.
The project aims to raise environmental awareness among different institutions and organizations in the region and to encourage young people and local actors to take a more active role in environmental protection processes.
