Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay, Patrick Child from the European Commission, Prof. Dr. Koray Velibeyoğlu, members of the Izmir Citizens’ Assembly for Climate, municipal departments, and YUVA came together.

During this open session on food production, the continuity of the council, active citizenship, carbon emissions, agriculture, and Izmir’s journey to climate neutrality, citizens’ questions were answered by Dr. Cemil Tugay and Patrick Child. Feasible solutions to Izmir’s current and potential risks were evaluated in light of the increasing climate problems across Europe.

As YUVA, we continue to support the integration of citizens’ suggestions into policy and action plans in the Izmir Climate Citizens’ Assembly process, which we are carrying out in collaboration with the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and HUDOTO.
We would like to thank all the assembly members who contributed, IZPA for organizing this meeting, and the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.
